PISA & THE SURROUNDING AREA
In this area some of the most incredible “Supertuscans” of the region are produced. These are wines created using international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Syrah. We will visit the holdings of Guizzano where we can speak to the owner, the Countess Venerosi, who will be our guide through her vineyards and will show us how a great Supertuscan like Nambrot or Veneroso is masterminded.
We will then move on to Torre a Cenaia winery where we will taste severals wines obtained from the harvesting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and other international grapes.
SUGGESTIONS
The hills surrounding Pisa are some of the most beautiful in Tuscany. Small hamlets counting but a few hundred inhabitants complete this stunning landscape, which is influenced by the nearby sea and offers a unique sense of peace and tranquility. The fresh sea breeze makes the atmosphere pleasant and clean with luxuriant vegetation. Like Florence and Siena, these lands are filled with history, where some of the oldest and important noble families had their historical homes and hunting reserves.
